I questioned posting that pic because of that That was a pic for the insurance company the day I trailered it home from 350 miles away.

There are some very sweet soft bumper cars being posted that were scored at great prices,
Deals are still out there, just weed past overpriced delusional ones.
Grant my bbs have gotten about the same mpg as my sbs, perhaps the builds and how i drive
If i want mpg ill take the kia, if i want priceless cool factor ill take the bb c3.

I know what I paid for my 74 big block car, but to answer the question here, Id probably be willing to go as high as 12k for a non bbc, non convertible, non pace car 74-82.
For me the car that would extract that money would be a low mileage 4 speed, knock your socks off condition 1979 black with oyster interior car, with front and rear spoilers.
A friend looked at a car for me in ct before I bought my 74. I think it was a 77, super clean light blue metallic car. I want to say it was like 8500 back in 2010, but I don't remember. I passed on it as it didn't have a/c, and never saw it in person.
Long story short is there is great advice in this thread. You can get ALOT of car for under 10k. Once you start getting into that 14k territory, there are a whole bunch of other cars that may be more interesting, that may have chrome bumpers or maybe not even be corvettes at all.

Here you go-
"Bring a trailer" auction website is a little more accurate on what the cars are actually selling for- no shill biding like eBay- and these are real sales.
30 C3's in the past year - you can get a good idea of going price-

There was a 81 with 400 actual miles that just sold at the Leake auction for 25k plus 10% commission
It was as nice as you will find. Was it worth it? I think so. If I had the money and space I would buy it.

There are rubber bumper cars you couldn’t give me and there are ones I would pay good money for. I’m not into convertibles, too hot in So. Fla 80% of the year. But a clean, un-messed with Pace Car, but only the L82, 4 speed and air, would interest me. So would a clean stock ‘74 with the 454, 4 speed and air. Of lesser interest any clean L82 4 speed with air but I’d only be willing to pay $7500-10K for one of them. Nothing with an automatic or lacking AC. Nothing with factory fuel injection. I’ll be selling my ‘69 as I don’t enjoy driving it in South Florida where 50% of the people don’t have car insurance and 75% can’t drive...
