I recently purchased a 1976 Jaguar with what is purported to be a 350 corvette engine. I would like to confirm whether it actually is or not. It does not have an original Corvette intake manifold, but has a Wieand 8000 dual plane with a Quadrajet mounted on top. I have attached a few pictures, that may help. I have very little experience with Chevrolet engines.
The engine looks like a basic Chev small block with finned (corvette) covers. There is a block casting number on the rear top of the block, drivers side, behind the cylinder head. If you pull a valve cover the heads should have a casting number and date code to help identify things a bit more.
Looks about right. There are other casting numbers on the block which you can decode and they will tell you CID, year it was made, etc. You can decode them on: http://www.nastyz28.com/sbchevy/sblock.html
I have one of those Weiand 8000s. I don't think they make it anymore. Don't toss it... it's one of few intake manifolds with a CARB E.O number cast right onto it.
It really fits just about any first gen SBC; I had it on my 327.
I bought this car for the Jaguar suspension components, so virtually everything else will eventually end up for sale. Just trying to identify items at this time. It has an amazing custom sound system in it that I will probably keep for my 64 Dodge Convertible now I have heard it operate. The car was actually a very nice resto-rod, but the rust worm has really taken a toll. Have had lots of Jags over the years, but none with the power this thing has. It is like a rocket.
Because of the shape of the stamp pad it would be 1977+. In 78 there were two which had a suffix ending in "S", CMS & CLS but it is difficult to see the characters or partial vin number. Here is a 78 corvette pad
Way back when i first learned they dropped sbc in jags i wanted a 2 door,
A bright yellow 4 door used to be seen a lot around orlando,
The give aways, fat tires and side pipes,
From time to time i look at them on Craigslist but they all seem to have rusted really badly, shame,
Whatcha gonna do with the hood ornament, might be fun on the front fender on my vw trike

Driving down nj turnpike in my 74 XJ6
in a snowstorm. Floorboard rotted and hung down. Was plowing snow into the interior pushing up the seat bottom I was sitting on. Had window open shoveling the snow back out of the car as it piled in. Gave it away shortly after. OP can you clean up that engine code a little better? That is the answer to your question. V0220 is tonowanda Feb 20th. Then it looks like DJS but that code doesn't exist.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
