Somebody posted not too long ago about removing whole clip from birdcage R...
They made it seem easy although I doubt it was that easy.

Good luck... GUSTO
You should have seen this car when we found it. Yikes! I think the pictures are on this site. The added hardtop on this convertible sets it off in my opinion.

So, the red-primer clip has a half of a Birdcage in it? And what condition is the blue coupe's cage? I guess first step is body off and mebbe set them side by side. I assume you have no intention of sectioning the 2 cages together, but all options should be considered. Even if just to reinforce what a dumbass idea option B or C was... Also, you are gonna have a convert with a coupe Vin. I would keep a few pics of the blue body and some halfway done pics in the car in case some cop decides it is stolen and re-numbered. Mebbe a pic of both frame Vin numbers too.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-Or...-/152816121391. So, there is a lot gets cut off around the top of the doors to put a vert clip on a coupe cage. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Corvette-Co....c100930.m5375. So maybe sectioning it right at the base of the sheet metal pan behind the seats might be doable. Plus the firewall stays attached to the cage. And most of the floorpan. Easy to glass that together. Covered by rug anyway

looking closer, I don't see a whole heck of a lot that's going to be attaching that rear clip to that sheet metal pan on The Birdcage. You might want to separate the blue rear clip from the bird cage and see if it comes off relatively easily. If so, then you can just put the convertible clip right onto that cage without doing any cutting and welding. Except for you got to chop off the top for the roof. Edit:. Apparently there is some cutting required to the lock pillar (B pillar) in order to get the body off the cage. One guy managed to finesse it. A bunch of alum rivets and a few panel adhesive beads and a bunch seam sealer. Haven't found a good pictorial yet.
