Hi all,
This may seem like a silly question, but . . .
I have to go out and buy a floor jack. I sold mine before my move to Nevada.
My daily driver is a Jeep Wrangler, so the jack I had was a high-lift model. Now for my C3, I'm thinking I may need a "low-profile" jack.
I would certainly prefer one floor jack for both vehicles, so I'm hoping I can get by with a standard profile 3-ton floor jack. Any suggestions?
I would like to avoid spending a fortune on one, being so close to the holidays.
Input is appreciated as always.
HARBOR FREIGHT...........The newer YELLOW ones they have
Yep......I went and got one.......with the coupon it was $179.00
They cannot keep these on the shelf. It works as good as the Snap On as my buddy has the jack they cloned it from.

Completely agree! I purchased one of these a few months ago and it is real nice. Very rugged and grease fittings on key joints!
I have always considered HF as a "light duty, use once and toss" place (handy and fun to browse the "stuff") - however - I recently purchased their Vulcan ProTIG 200 Welder and it is quite nice also!!

We also went with the Harbor Freight 3 ton.... with cross beam. Works great for lifting the Vette one side at a time, bringing both wheels off the ground at the same time. AND for lifting the front or rear on a more stable platform than a single point of contact.
Thanks to all for the great recommendations. I was actually surprised to see how many folks own Harbor Freight floor jacks.
I opted for the steel low-profile 3-ton model. I had a coupon that knocked a few bucks off, so that helped.
It seems to be built quite well and should work for my needs. Low enough to fit under the C3 and high enough lift to get my Wrangler off the ground.
2 7/8" minimum height and 19 1/2" maximum.
I have 2 of the one pictured in post #14 above....No issues, I have had one of those over 5 years.

So did I, mine is re-sold as a Michelin low profile one, Works great on the 4" clearance on the vette and it even lifted my avalanche.
Now it lifts my wrangler with a 2.5" lift also.
Wow, now that I have my floor jack, I'm searching the forum for the proper placement of the jack and jack stands.
Now I'm nervous about screwing things up. I've read about body flex, doors being knocked out of wack, front alignment being affected by improper jacking.
I've lifted many cars in my day, but being a C3 newbie, I must admit, I'm a tad worried about this one.
