I'm lookin for ideas on making a fuel filter bracket for my 69 car with stock filter and fuel line setup with no smog pump/brace. I have some thoughts but I'd really like to see what others have done. My goal is safety and to also make it look like it belongs (hard to do with the filter sticking oddly out in space without the smog apparatus).
Yes, there is a stud on the head I plan to use, and I do have that bracket and another that's for the non AC filter (looks similar but it a bit larger in diameter). My issue is that with out the smog pump brace there is no place to attach the filter bracket. It needs an extension of some sort to reach out to it. The filter is kind of suspended in mid air relying on nothing but the fuel lines to hold it up.
You can see the stud I have on the passenger side head. I planned on making a bracket out of some flat stock to reach up to the filter bracket. I just wanted to see if others had made anything or what they used?
