My (I guess restomod?) 1974 corvette had some adjustable mirrors on it that were adjustable from inside via a set of cables. Was that originally an option on the '74? Just curious. I cant seem to find anything about adjustable side mirrors anywhere and they aren't referenced in my AIM.
I bought some chrome ones to replace them.
Edit: I think I'm just going to leave the adjuster in the door panel with the cable cut so I don't have a gaping hole in the door....

Sport mirrors became optional in 1977 on the Corvette. The drivers side mirror was initially operated with a cable while the passenger side mirror was manually adjusted.
Sport mirrors almost immediately became a popular mod to many C3's and the cost of a set ran well over $100. As a result lots of used F-body Sport Mirrors were sold at swap meets as Corvette mirrors. The mirrors were identical except for the pedestal. The pedestal on the Corvette mirror was about an inch taller than the F-body mirror to be able to see over the rear quarter. If you made the mistake of picking up a set of F-body mirrors you found out quickly that your rear view was mostly blocked by the rear quarter panel.

Good luck... GUSTO
Yup! Those are the ones that were on it. Problem is that they wouldn't adjust properly... probably the pedestal problem you mentioned but seems to be in the poopsite direction. The mirrors were aiming up not down. Well, I already half destroyed them trying to get them off but since they didn't work properly either way, I supposed it's not a huge loss. I prefer the chrome mirrors anyway... :-) Thanks for the info and especially the pic!
