I am replacing the T-Top weather stripping. However when I lift and turn the T-Top, there is what sounds like a nut or pop rivit ends inside and dosent sound great. How do I get into the space between the painted topp and where the latches are? all I see is more pop rivets. If I drill lthem out there will be more debris in the channel, thats not the answer.
Help?
its a 74. the headliner is easily removed with the hard plastic velcro, but the stuff is inside the cavity between the painted top and the underside, under the latch closers
KMC, I have come across this many times and yes, it is very annoying. It is usually the white plastic tips that hold the weatherstrip in place. The only fix is to drill a half inch hole at one of the corners and shake the pieces out. Then just epoxy over the hole. Easy fix.

After looking at it, the headliner covers a spot between teh latch closers and its teh largest void in the whole thing. If I drill a hole there I could epoxy or re-fiberglass it and the headliner will hide that spot well.
Thanks for the info.
I drilled a hole then after I got all the crap out I got a filler plug they sell them at the home depot popped right in I could have glassed over it but if I hear another pin rolling around In there I can just pop the plug out
To get rid of the noise, drill several small holes into the channel and insert the wand from a can of spray foam. It fills the cavity and holds all of the loose junk in place.
