I am doing a complete rewire using a Ron Francis 24/7 fuse box. I am almost done with it and it really was pretty simple, but not for the faint of heart. Wire is heavy enough to handle just about anything you want. I also got a complete ground kit from them, which means nothign gets groundd to the frame. There are ground blocks from, inside and rear of car for anything that needs grounding. Ground wires go to battery or block. And the fuse box is magnetically attached to the car, so you can actually pull it down and work on it if needed. No more standing on your head. All in all it was about the same as a complete plug and play set up, but I feel I endd up with a lot more versatility. And I can make the way I want it, not the way it was designed 40 plus years ago. For example, 8 ga alternator wire is standard bu they will go up to a 6 ga if you just ask, no extra charge. Can't say enough about how easy it was, if you just follow the directions. It also has 4 circuits that you can decide if they power hot all the time or power on with the key, all you need to do is move the fuse. Be glad to share more if you want. Having seen your posts over time I think it would be an easy upgrade for you. Good luck.

Also take a look at Painless 20102. It is a 25 circuit designed for 66 to 74 GM muscle cars. It works well in C3's as they were designed during this period and it fit nicely into my 77.

I've used half a dozen Painless kits over the years. Their universal kits directions are mediocre at best. The kits come with a bunch of butt connectors that I typically toss in the trash. I use the crimp type that heat shrink down and have some type of sealant to make them water proof. Painless has a newer and more expensive kit out now with updated directions. Their tech services very good. I've had a few questions over the different installs and they were quick to answer my questions. All the wires are labeled the full length. Save you original wiring harness connectors you will need them spliced into the aftermarket harness. Once I got the kits installed and powered up they worked well.
American Autowire seems to have good reputation but I have not used them.
Buy good wire stripper. The kind that clamps the wire and pulls the plastic off the wire.b

Hey Eddie-

Here's something that will be invaluable if you ever have to service & troubleshoot in the future with a "custom" harness-

A Dymo labeler- it does heatshrink tubing- about $60 for the labeler and another $20 for the heatshrink

I used American Wire. You can get the kit on E Bay or at summit. I used it on my 67 GTO and it comes with everything including original ends, everything is labeled. Come with extra wiring for fuel pumps, fans, ignition boxes. Real complete kit and cheaper than painless.
