I have a 1982 Corvette with a oil leak coming from the oil pan. I want to change the oil pan gasket myself. Is it necessary to pull the engine to change the gasket or is it completely accessible without loosening the engine. I'm a novice when it comes to this, but want to get my hands dirty.

Simply disconnect the idler arm from the frame and the steering assembly will drop enough to allow you to easily remove the pan. Idler arm is held to the frame on the passenger side with just two bolts - simple job.
