77 fuse keeps popping
Hi All,
Hopefully someone here has experienced this before or has some insight that will help me slay this electrical demon. Fuse that operates interior lights/lighter has popped twice in the last couple if weeks. I believe it's 20 amp. Haven't used the lighter at all. Opened & closed driver side door a couple of times & today interior lights are out. Could this have anything to do w/ interior light delay switch? Not sure where to begin. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Sounds like your 77 was equipped with the convenience group package that would include the delay timer for the interior lights. To bypass the delay timer, unplug the orange wire plugged into the BAT cavity on fuse panel. Under the dash pad between the speedometer and tachometer is where the delay timer is found, usually just taped to the main dash harness. Once you find the timer trace down the white/black stripe wire and connector and the solid white wire and connector. Disconnect each of them from the delay timer and plug them together, now there will be solid white/white connected. The delay is now out of the circuit and courtesy lights should function without a delay.
Drawing: Left is without delay Right is with delay 1977 only.
If you find the delay module is the problem and you would like to keep the delay feature Willcox Corvette has devolved a replacement delay board and a good write up on the conversion: https://willcoxcorvette.com/delay-timer-77-77-26903
