Default door hinge

The drivers door on my 75 is sagging and rubbing when closing. Should I order a new hinge or can these be repaired?

Don't know about the vette, but on my son's 93 Syclone, he was able to buy a bigger diameter hinge pin at the auto parts store that cured his sagging.

You can get a pin and bushing kit. The bushings wear out over time.

Awesome Bill, is that a set of bushings and pins, or new hinges?

Is it worth trying to remove them one at a time or should I just remove the door to change the bushings?

I rebuilt my hinges with the new pin & bushings kit. Tightened everything right up. I took my doors off to do it but I had a lift to use to help re-install them. They are very heavy, do not hurt yourself.

I used a tool bought on Ebay to hold the door. It fits on a floor jack. See photo.
I took the door off and replaced the hinge pins and bushings.
Tape the edges of your fender and door. You can mess up the paint if not careful. Don't ask me how I know that?
If I did it again I would have a helper. Two people.

Craig

Thanks rat that's what I did. I used a cherry picker and the garage door brace to hold it with ropes. Your right they are heavier than they look.

That looks awesome Craig, now I want one. Ill try to post a picture of what I had to go through. thinking it better to not try and pull around on the power window wires to remove them to remove the door.
