Default Deck Lid Hinge Assy

75 convertable deck lid is 1/4 inch to high at the right hinge. No shims between hinge and deck but I can see 1 thick one under base of hinge (bottom). PO replaced #4 body mount brackets and didn’t bother to use correct shims when he put the hinge back. Question I have after I remove the deck lid, can the hinge assy be removed with the spring still in place so I can install the correct number of shims then reinstall the hinge assy?

you will have to remove springs as they are attached to deck lid as well.

To remove the spring, close the deck lid. Get yourself some wooden door shims from the hardware store. Push the shims into the spring coils. Keep adding until you are able to remove the spring when the lid is open. Whatever you do be careful.
