What’s does this 71 control do?
Don’t remember this on past C3s, what is it?

Odometer reset. Page 18 of the owners manual. Should have a rubber cap on the end.

thanks 71 Green 454, I thought that at first but it wasn't turning and I didn't want to force it. now I will go and try it again. need a **** now.

On my 70, you either have to push up and turn or pull down and turn. Been way too long since I have tried to turn it.

You have to push up and turn to reset.

thanks , Eddie, just checked mine again and the switch doesn't feel like its mounted in place. will check better when I get car outside so I can open door more. well 71 GREEN, I just realized I also need a manual. lol. thanks.

Trip mileage reset
Frequently “frozen” from corrosion and/or lack of use. Not wanting to break anything, I just do the math using the odometer reading.

There is a rubber **** that goes over the metal stub, which is missing. This would give a better grip and addition leverage.
