I am trying to clean the inside of my 76. I have washed all the parts with dawn but cannot get some areas clean of a sticky residue. I know that vinyl can leach out if that’s the proper term. Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks
If oil-based "protectants" have been used on the interior parts (can you say, ArmorAll ), the goo is likely deteriorating plastic. You may have to attempt cleaning it with some kind of solvent. You might try using some hand cleaner first.
If you can get the goo off, use only polymer protectants on plastic/rubber/leather pieces you want to protect. Nu-Vinyl, Meguiar's protectant for plastics, 303, etc will all do a good job.

My brother was the original owner and I am the second doing a complete frame off in his memory. I can definitely recall him using armorall the first few years he had it, and then did not use it after that. When I washed the parts with dawn they get very clean but some areas like I said will have a slight sticky feel to it. The interior is great condition, almost like new with the exception of that issue. I just do not want to use anything harsh on it to ruin it. Thanks
Try Meguiars gold class leather and vinyl cleaner .I did my interior with a soft shoe brush and the vinyl cleaner to get all the grease and grime in the grain of the vinyl and was pleasantly surprised .After used Meguiars vinyl protectant low sheen .
