Peter,
Hey, nothing to be ashamed of - you have a beautiful 1977 Corvette in a great color!

The E13 indicates that your car was built December 13, 1976 (sometimes the factory used a capital letter I, but that is supposed to be the number 1). Your VIN sequence aligns with a December build. Considering that 52 Yellow was likely discontinued by mid-October 1976, and it took a bit of time for the factory to get a delivery of and prepared for the new 56 Yellow (and time off for Thanksgiving holiday), your 1977 Corvette is a very, very early 56 Yellow (also used on Corvettes in 1975-76).

For 1976 Corvettes, "Stingray" script was applied by the factory onto the front fenders. For 1977, the "Stingray" script was no longer on the front fenders (in fact, nowhere on the car). Early 1977 models did not have any emblem on the fenders. As mentioned in my earlier post, the Crossed-Flags emblem began to be applied to the 1977-model fenders at approximately VIN 12607, November 15, 1976.

You should have the anti-theft alarm activator on the driver-side fender (it was incorporated into the driver-door lock on March 21, 1977).

The blue engine block is correct - the engine blocks went from orange to blue by approximately September 7, 1976 (near VIN 02642).

As you can see, there were many small changes made during the 1977 model year.

Your front air dam has been painted. From the factory, those are black.

Thanks for your info!

Hi All,
thanks for Your great info about birthday of my car! I know that 1977 was year of changes and, in some aspects, one-year-only solutions. Fortunatelly, all "sensitive" parts are original and in good condition on my car. Thanks for interesting info about air dam - since it is separate part, I am thinking about replacing that. Just please tell me, were these laquered to matt/shiny black, or left uncoloured from the factory? I like original looking cars and would like to go as far as I can. Interior includin the radio is original. Alarm activator is present same as all flag symbols on the nose, fuel tank cover, fenders and steering wheel. Both me and Tweety higly appreciate Your info!

Best regards!
Peter

The air dam (front spoiler) was unpainted black plastic.

Thanks! Please, what are the door panels and upper part of the dash (horizontal, under the windscreen) made from? Is it some timber or plastic?

Plastic.
(In 1977, there was not any woodgrain inserts on door panels or console. Just black inserts)

The core of the door panel is pure plastic, if I remember correctly. Someone correct me if I am incorrect.

"152" is the interior color (trim), "26" is the exterior color (paint). It helps to know the year as the codes changed yearly, but since the original post was about 77's I'll guess you're inquiring about a 77. "E26" in the top right is the body build date, December 26th, so your car would have been just before the end of 1976.

Interior code I52 in 77 was Smoke Gray Leather (Smoke Gray Cloth was 15C) and paint code 26 was Bright Blue Metallic. It looks like your car's had a color change at some point, maybe even more than one color change considering how thick the paint looks on the tag.
