the repro ones are not much better. that one is worn to the point where I would find a GM NOS one.

Maybe. It would depend on how pliable or how brittle the flex-disc felt. If it felt hard, I would reuse all the metal pieces and rebuild it with a new flex-disc. If it had some 'give' to it and the disc had no deterioration on it, I'd clean it up really well and put it back on. But, it would get regular visual checks and would be removed if disc began to deteriorate. Flexibility is the key attribute for that part.

Thanks guys - l guess the hunt is on for good replacement rag joint. So far the one Duntov Motors looks good. What would you use for a replacement? Maybe I'll rebuild it.

My personal guide on things like this - if I'm questioning it - replace it.

I have a rebuild kit that doesn't look worth putting in. Perhaps Willcox has found a manufacturer to make them correctly, so I'd suggest you start there.

I use Flaming River U-joints in my cars, over the objections if many on the Forum.

DD - I read some old reviews about not completing orders and poor CS but all I want is a rag joint. Their S030 looks like a decent rag joint but not much of a description or images on the web site.
Probably no better than others I've seen. VANSTEEL has one that also looks good and I have nothing but GOOD to say about them.

Here's a NOS rag joint for a 36-spline worm gear (67-69E)
