A friend of mine inherited her fathers 1969 Corvette after he passed, which is currently in pieces due to him in the middle of a restoration. I'm trying to obtain the VIN and Trim tag info to see what it shipped with. Obviously its a 4spd car and has a 350...I'm assuming its an original sbc chevy car until I can run the numbers. The car is located several hundred miles away so I wont be able to get that data for a few weeks. Any chance some of you might be able to provide a rough ballpark value of the car in its current state? I know its tough not knowing the options and trim numbers. But if I can start getting a big ballpark idea that will help her decide if she wants to have the work completed and keep the car, or sell it as it is.
Many thanks! Here are the only photos I have of it in its currently condition.

There is no option information in the VIN and the trim tag will tell you only the original colors. Without original factory documentation, you may never know what it was shipped with.
Possibly a tilt front end ? Was preparing for some wide rear traction. My guess he was building a wild street or drag car. One could never take this to a body shop for completion without adding many thousands of dollars beyond its value. My guess is it will be on Craig's List.
I have to agree with OCB. There is not one thing I can see there worth saving as it's already so far gone . The cost just in parts to rebuild that thing would be staggering. Maybe some drive train parts are worth a few bucks but that's it.
the front suspension is gone, you can't even roll it out that garage, you can't even trailer it.. acquisition costs will be sky high..
maybe a token thousand or 2.
based on the tachometer I would say it is a 350/350 and in it's current condition and unknown mileage using the Corvette DNA app $7,225.
50 Year old car. What guarantees the original engine is still in place or is rebuildable ? There is no APP to come close to value with picture indications. Yes, if it is a relatives vehicle with some personal attachments, keeping it would be a consideration.... if inside storage space is available and one doesn't have to trip over it every day. In this case value depends on the individual willing to take on an incredible task of completion or parts sales.
My opinion - Originality is not a concern anymore. It is just a hot rod project. Needs 20K at the least to make it road worthy. If owner is inclined to spend at least that much cash then she needs to find someone to trust to finish it (no small task). If that estimate and warning scares her off then she should consider selling "as-is".
I don't see getting more than the sum of the parts right now.
i don't see getting as much as the sum of the parts. goofy flip nose with headlights closed off and damage. both rear quarters off with damage on deck where they attach. wrong carb points to who-knows-what in engine compartment. unless she does glass work, she can't keep it. where is the car? one of us may be interested or could take a look and give an opinion.
