Interior work
I just got brand new seat upholstery with a bunch of wires (installation kit) and left and right door panels with no holes cut out for the handles, auto locks etc. I’ve never done upholstery work before but I know it’ll look awesome if I can get it done right. I need to know where these wire inserts go on the seats and how to create good quality holes in the door inserts to keep it looking good. Unfortunately the parts never come with instructions and I’m not finding much on the 79 model on you tube. Hopefully the fountain of knowledge that is this forum can provide the answer.
Cheers all all and have a great day.

Look on General or Tech for ASK WILCOX and post a question to Ernie, his knowledge is irreplaceable.

I'll also caution you that if you try to pull the clips up and over the wire you'll break them, if you watch the video you'll notice that the tool is used to flip the clips over the wire and not up and over and pay attention to how the covers are rolled over the foam not pulled.. this is done by pushing very hard down into the foam, trying to stretch the cover over the foam will usually result in a tear in the cover.
Another trick is steam is your friend once the covers are installed. We have a commercial steamer here but any kind of steamer will work if you're only doing one set. There are other tricks but it's late and I have dinner on the table..
