Default Headrest covers

How hard is it to install new headrest covers? Both mine have tears in the vinyl and I was wondering if the covers just slip on or if it’s a more in depth process.

Thanks

If they are the abs plastic ones for the 69 I would send them to some one like willcox to recover them ,I couldn't find a glue that would hold the abs very well and the need heat to mould them at the bottom to hide the foam .

Yeah, if you are talking about the correct molded ‘69 then you would need to send them out to one of the places that does the install properly.

I know I’ve seen some sewn replacement ‘69 headrest covers too, but they look very incorrect if you are familiar with stock.

I had 69 head rests added to my 68. They were made by Al Knoch. He said he had purchased the original factory tooling to make the head rests. I bought.a set of beat up head rests from eBay. Al needed the metal inserts. He stripped the eBay head rests down to the metal inserts, repeated them, and molded on my new headrests. Beautiful. The beat up head rests I bought on eBay were maroon. Mine came back bright blue and matched perfectly.

To put the head rests on my 68, I had to buy 69 seat back frames.
