Default talk me out of this car

odd title I know, but I found this 68 while surfing the local craigslist and for SOME reason I really like this car

https://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/ct...853061642.html

I already have a 68, don't really need another one, but for some odd reason I 'm just stuck on this car, keep coming back and looking at it.

does anyone see anything that jumps out as bad or wrong?

so bit of an update- just about ready for spring and i got the car "finished"

Amazing that you can have a car that runs and drives, but need so much to make it right. I completely detailed under the hood, rebuild the wiper door, reinstalled the rear window shelf. and last but not least, I restored the rims, and bought a set of repop redline radials- I have the build sheet and this is how it was originally optioned. they really look great against the silver.

Nope, but the pics are limited. Might be worth a look-see. Wiper door actuator is the later version, but not a deal breaker.

right, the only 2 things that jumped out at me was the wiper actuator not correct, and no ignition shielding.

Pretty reasonable price IMHO for a coupe/base engine/auto and looks like it was loved too!

Great buy if rust is manageable.

Are those headrest seats? Hard to see interior details. I like the correct smog pump.

Nothing awful jumps off the ad.

My 68 has the same color combination. Nice leather seats, smog pump etc. If the frame and birdcage are OK, go for it. Mine still turns heads. Jerry

I see what everyone else sees.....a great car if its rust free. Nice leather, power windows, looks like an original radio. Other than the wiper door actuator and its an auto it would be a great investment and a fun driving car. If I could afford it I would grab it. I would hotrod the car I have, which I am and keep this one completely stock. I could be in both worlds of collecting. BUY IT and then yo can drive one while working on the other. If your married tell the wife you bought it for her, hope she likes silver.

PS get that car some red stripe tires......

All 68s had A.I.R.

Time for a visit and inspection I would say. Nice looking from the ad, but only way to tell is that personal visit.
Good luck with your decision.

Not all '68 C3's had the A.I.R. system. But, all CA C3's had that system. Nice 'looking' car, decent price, THM-400 is a nice trans if you don't want to clutch. You need to know what the 'frame rust' condition is and what shape the mechanicals are in. Rusty and/or poor condition mechanicals....take a hike.

Vintage Eagle GT tires mean that it has not been driven much.......they quit making those in 92' I believe.....which jibes with his restoration in 91'...........
Smog pump means most stuff is intact...........
Hell of a deal if the metal is all solid.....
