The dash pad in my 73 is in good structural shape but the cover looks pretty beat up. What are my options to make it look nice? I know that there are the covers, but are they meant to go over the existing surface or do you remove the existing cover and put the new one on it? FYI I am converting the interior on this car from tan to black so I would be recovering it was black.
Scott, the pad in my '73 was cracked but solid so I decided to cover it. Bought the cap and the quality felt good as well as the color but when I test fit it, the holes for the speakers missed by half the width of the perforated area. Pretty disappointed. So I bit the bullet and just bought a new dash pad. I'm very satisfied with the results, fit, finish and color. Greg
