throw out originality, it all can be faked or claimed original when it really isn't.
throw out performance. today's motorcycles and cars will run circles around most performance C3 corvettes.

buy on condition or put money into your car to improve its condition: nice paint, rebuilt suspension, rebuilt drivetrain, new interior, zero rust, etc...

It all depends on the car. If I had a 69 427 4 speed triple black convertible, I would keep it original. As it is, I have a 75 convertible that was nowhere near stock when I got it, so I built it the way I want it with lots of performance and the looks I want.

I like mine to look somewhat stock but performance enhanced.
You cant see the internals of the motor or the suspension under it so im not worried about them, but i do like to sit unde my car and stare at a clean under body. 4 out of the 5 voices in my head say that its fine. The 5th one speaks spanish and i have no idea what hes saying....

Definitely a matter of taste. I prefer my 69 L46 roadster to look original, but I like some safety and performance upgrades that don't show such as poly suspension parts, stainless brake lines, etc.
