Speedometer Cable

I'm assuming this plastic square end of the cable is supposed to be longer that what mine is? Doesn't engage with the transducer.

there just was an identical post the other day. Appears to be a common problem. Willcox had a method to remove it by taking a small metal nail or tack, put some nicks in the nail, heating it and pushing it into the plastic that is stuck in the transducer. I may not have written this description 100% accurately so try to find the original post, it was this week.

Surprisingly, no material in the transducer at all. I guess all I need is a new cable since I already replaced everything else in the system.
