1980 door lock *****
I seem to have lost mine during my interior restoration. The vendors seem to want a crazy amount for replacement (the least expensive I could find was $26 shipped for the pair.) That's nuts.
Does anyone know the length and thread size for the ***** so I can buy cheap replacements?
Are the originals chromed metal or chromed plastic? The one's I lost were chromed plastic but I'm not sure if they were original to the car.

They're chromed plastic and generic. Once upon a time you could get a pair on a card at the auto box places. I'm reasonably certain that's where my two came from.

You can get them at any of the local parts stores for less than $10. Check the "HELP" or "Dorman" products section.

I just removed mine, along with the connecting rod on my 78. The way they run through the armrest created just enough drag to make it a real bear to move the lock mechanism with the key; and I had just wired my power lock motors to a keyless entry unit. So I just use the key fob instead of the awkwardly recessed lock ****.
