Remove carpet glue?
What has everyone used to remove the old spray on glue. Have the old carpet out and want to clean before adding insulation.
Thank
Russ

3M makes a spray on adhesive remover but I do not know if it is safe for carpets.

Thanks but I was looking for what people used to remove the glue off the body before I put the insulation and new carpet down.
Thanks again

Don't laugh...dry ice makes the glue crystallize....then you chip it off. (when it's still cold.) I've also seen this with bitumenous undercoating.
Don't breathe the CO2!

I'm putting Dynomat down first, so it needs to be fairly smooth.

Are you talking the residue on the car or on the back of the carpet? And is it the stuff the factory clopped on in a bunch of places? If so I used a scrapper blade (no teeth) on a multi-tool and it worked very well without digging into the fiberglass at all

I used a rag soaked in lacquer thinner, lay the rag on the glue for a minute or two to soften the glue. Scrapes off easily.
Oh...and make sure you wear a mask and your place is well ventilated.
