When I took my 1970 454 out for a drive this morning the shift lever became loose and floppy and had a rattling noise. Anyone experience this? Could it be something as simple as bolts getting loose, or something more involved? BTW, the car was only driven around 800 miles over 12 years by the prior owner, and likely just around town. Since I bought it a few months ago, I've had a lot of work done, and I'm wondering if driving it a lot more and likely harder, may have caused bolts to loosen.
And, it's the stock factory manual 4 speed.
