Got it going! Thank you all for your advice. Changes the plugs, cleaned the distributor, and it fires up instantly now and idles perfectly. Love that sound!
Next are the brakes. I added brake fluid to the master cylinder and pumped the brakes but can't get the brakes to work. The car has sat for awhile could the calipers be seized up? Tomorrow I am going to bleed the brake lines and get the fluid in there. So far no leaks or anything but the brakes aren't currently working. Any suggestions?
Heres a pic of the plugs. They were bad!
Those are some of the worst looking plugs I've seen in awhile. Congratulations! About the brakes, if the fluid went too low, air might have got in the lines. What are the symptoms? Brake pedal goes to floor, solid brake but no stop, brakes are seized? More info would help.
You may have a faulty Ingition module, they are a problem especially if it’s set for a while ,make sure the inside dist cap is free of any residue ,use a brake cleaner aerosol lightly.
The plug that goes into the bottom of the distributor...12VDC + is a problem....make sure its good, clean and ACTUALLY PLUGGED IN!!!! sometimes the spade terminal falls out of the plug and it LOOKS like it's plugged in!

Thanks for your help F22. Yes they were awful and such a pain to get to. They dont leave you much space!
On to the brakes. Originally I filled up the master cylinder about 3/4 of the way. I pumped the brakes and fluid got in the lines and with the car off there is pressure on the brake pedal. With the car on the brakes are really soft. I took off the MC cap and pumped the brakes and put more fluid in and can see the fluid squirting in the MC. After that I left it and came back to it this a.m. I did the same process over again and now there is a leak by each wheel. It's hard to see but it doesnt look like it's coming from the brake lines. Here are some pics. I now have it jacked up, tire off, and sprayed brake cleaner and blaster on the brakes.
You may have blown the caliper cylinders ,if they are old they will. Be cast iron and are subject to leaking.solvethe problem buy rebuilt calipers that have s/s cylinders. And bleed from the calipers back to the master.youll will also want to check the emergency shoes.(parking brake).
We are talking distributor cap ,on the driver side there are 2 wires on the cap that plug in ,(1) is for power 12 volt the other is the tack.,may be use some electrical grease to help connection.
As far as working on C3 Corvettes, one of the best things I ever got was a stubby standard SAE wrench set. The shorter, the better and make sure the combination end of it, is a 12 point.

Thank you for your advice! Replaced all calipers, pads, fluids and it is good to go!
