Default Just bought a ‘76 T Top.

Paid $5,000

has a 350 with a 400 turbo trans. Holley four barrel carb.

wondering if there is a way to tell if it has a L82 or L48?

any common issues with this year?

Rust has gotten ahold of it. How do you make sure the rust hasn’t gotten bad enough that it’s beyond repair?

Check the engine suffix code on the pad on the block at the front of the passenger's side head. If the car was ordered with the L-82, the fifth character of the VIN will be an X.
Congrats. Nice looking car.

Welcome to the forum Dustin.
Great looking car brother!
Like easy Mike says

L=L-48

Looks great! I like the later rear bumper cover, I'm doing the same mod to my 76. Good luck with it, I hope the rust isn't very bad.
