Default Rare car or ?

See the craigslist link.

https://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/ctd...922325566.html

I was going to contact the seller about the high price, but then came the story that it is 1 of 6 factory built.. Never heard or read about such, guessing not GM factory.

Lousy limo. too small. lousy vette. too big. Interesting conversation piece if I walked up to it. But I wouldn't pay for it.

Well maybe the REAR is a '80 and the front is an 81. LOL

I have an article on ACI (I think) and indeed they're rare...'prolly less then five.

This reminds me of the Monty Python joke....You sold me a DEAD Parrot, it's extinct, shucked off the mortal coil etc. etc. it's a RARE parrot.

RARE= after everybody barfed on them, and nobody bought them, they went extinct!

"Whats the turning circle" Answer; IOWA. 200hp into 4500 lbs....'oozingly quick'.

Not sure if you are serious, serious answer is...

Truthfully it is quite rare. There may be no more than 10 of these in existence. With 1.5M Corvettes out there, its rare. Fact.

It is not a factory built car, so as a Corvette for collectability it gets low marks. Its not a modification that brings out what corvettes were born to do so its kind of what many would see as an abomination.

However some may think its cool, so that's why they pop up from time to time.

I want to see the turn radius of these things. It might be close to the turn radius of my 01 F250, which suuuuucks!

One digit too many in the price. Maybe 2.

The price on the red one has come down, it was 250K at the all Corvette show in Los Altos in 2012.

Yep that one has been for sale for a while-

Thanks to the internet - we can see what somebody would actually pay for one-

Barely over $15K..

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Chevro...orig_cvip=true

The 4 door Corvette America was built by California Custom Coach in Pasadena CA .
Supposedly between 4 and 6 built, all of them either 79’s or 80’s

According to Super Chevy (March ‘01),-
"After five personalized production vehicles were built, however, the project was scrapped due to the exorbitant cost: While a standard, new 1979 Corvette cost roughly $13,000, these four-doors stickered at about $35,000."

The last one I saw that SOLD-

Well, if I bought one of those limos I'd have to spend another $10k extending my garage and driveway.
And a limo is supposed to be roomy, those all look cramped.
Nope, not for me!

Not a snow ball's chance in hell this car was ever going into production. You don't *** with America's only true sports car. Just my opinion of course.
