Default What is this quadrajet part?

Was working on the 7028209 carb from my 68. I had removed the top, float, rods, etc and turned it over to remove the base plate. This spring with a plastic button in it fell out from somewhere. I cannot figure out where it came from or what it is. Since I could not figure out where it goes, I put the carb back together without it. Seems to run OK, but really wonder what it is and where it came from. Anyone know?

Thanks,

John

Look at # 2 and 3. I think it's part of a check valve that fits into #1.

Thanks, Sure does look like that is the part. I did not see the black part, pic 1, that holds it in my inlet fitting, so not sure why the spring and white button was in there. Anyway at least it does not belong somewhere inside the carb.

Thanks again,

John
