Default RPI Designs ????

I ordered the Stainless Steel retainer set for installing the new front bumper on my 73 from RPI Designs nearly 3 weeks ago and had no
delivery and no tracking number provided.
I have emailed 3 times with no reply.

Has anyone dealt with this company ??

Yes I am in Australia and expect a delay in freight times but with no reply to my emails I am a bit worried, with freight and the
exchange rate this is an $80.00 purchase.

There is a transaction forum to check for others who dealt with this company : https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...rchid=76072963

Some old complaints, but if you continue to be ignored then post on that forum so others will know what to expect, good or bad.

good luck because they claim in Nonn's link they check their emails daily.

Ok, so I decided to call RPI from Australia and find out about the order, spoke with Jenifer who told me the item will be coming in
this week and will ship at the end of the week but no guarantees.
As it has been 3 weeks already I decided to cancel the order and get a refund which Jenifer agreed to do.

Will source my bolts from another vendor

Their site says they read their email daily but nothing about responding to them. Hopefully they will learn to at least do that for customers.

you are so correct there about us Australian's getting a raw deal..

i went to buy a headlight switch for my '72, at the time it was about 30$ for the part, shipping was going to be 70$....
and this was from a large well known vendor.

try finding parts in the forums, ebay or ordering from mom n pop shop vendors.
big warehouse parts places usually have accounts with certain shipping companies and have limited options.
Many places dont have large inventory of catalog stock, so many times they ship direct from manufacturer and have no shipping option, (or manufacturer send to parts company to you. <-- thats maybe what caused your delay)
The smaller guys can look up inventory better and help go down to the post office and get you a better rate and charge actual costs and package the parts better.

I have purchased from RPI. Muffler and hanger hardware, and also the downpipes.
It all came through ok and they had very good shipping charges for the large parts.... lots better than anyone else.

So just to be fare to RPI, they refunded my money into my Paypal account in less than half an hour with an email to confirm
from when I spoke with them on the phone from Aus.

Shipping to Australia, or other countries, always has its issues.

Many shops use simple shipping calculators on their sites that don't offer all options available and often default to higher charges.

As for waiting a few weeks till shipping I think that is not that unusual as most places don't have everything in stock and have to order from distributors.

It is often not wise to just order one thing.

You may want to look at companies that on ship for you like shipito....

I have used many suppliers over the years and have in general been very happy.

Willcox have always been a stable and have a reasonable shipping calculator on the site.

Corvette Central will take your order then calculate the shipping once they have it all available and packed...they try and minimise the overall size etc.

VanSteel do a great job on splitting packages and minimising shipping.

Bairs also do very reasonable shipping.

For small items I ship them to California for on shipping every 3 months or so.
