Heat Control/Shift Console Installation
I'm having a hell of a time getting my heater control and shift console put back together.on my 76. I can't get the heater control bracket, heat control and the console all to line up. I've done this twice before and I'm thinking I must be missing something obvious. Does someone have a picture or good description of the order this goes back together? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have the heater control sitting on top of the little brace? (Just so I know where you are) That's usually half the battle right there when I take out a console.
Do you have the plastic guide tabs for the cables screwed to the underside of the console?

I do have the heater control setting on top of the bracket. That's the biggest pain in is getting it back in position. I got everything back together, now I can't get the heater control to sit in the top plate like it's supposed to.

So the brace is resting in place in the console but you just can't get the heater control to settle down into it?
What else is there???
Vacuum lines, and are cables connected to the wheel slider pins on the control correctly?
I've only had the heater control out once and I'm trying to remember
