Noise from the rear on my 75, sounds like banging sound , do you think it is trailing arms or maybe u joints need replacing on the half shafts and /or drive shaft, how can i check to see what issue i am having, thanks for any help
If you get the noise when accelerating or decelerating, you may want to check that your spacer shims are still in place in the Rear Trailing Arm front pivots to the frame.
Discovered all my shims had fallen out after root causing a noise and lateral "chuck" feel when the Diff would get torqued. You could actually feel a slight sideways shift in the ***-end when leaning into the throttle, or when backing off quickly (As in downshifting).
Prior owner had used the shims that were "fork" shaped on one end, but failed to put a cotter pin in the end with the hole to keep them in place.
Once one of them works its way out, the rest will fall out quickly, as the sandwich effect is gone.
Easy fix for a PIA problem. Got the rear end aligned at the same time.

It may something as simple as the diff needing fresh oil and additive or the snubber bushing being dry rotted or mushy from pinion seal leaking gear oil on it. However you have to check all the bushings and look to see if the axles are hitting the diff, that would be a metal on metal sound though.

I agree, we need a little more info. Does it happen continouulsy? In turns only? Acceleration only? Decceleration ? Is it there all the time? does the frequency change with Rpm or Speed?
Your snubber could be loose or broken, the bracket for the snubber loose or bolts missing. The U joints seized. Brake issue, bearing issue or bad tire or wheel.
