I'm a child of that era and recall the Motion Performance Chevies pretty well, except for the Corvettes. I always saw Camaro's or Chevelles.
Their formula was pretty simple; L89/L88, low rear gears, headers, big tires.
IIRC Your red accents appear to be correct, same for the hood. I'd imagine some of their magazines have to be in someones basement or garage.
I had a white 69 Coupe back in the day. 350/350 car, red interior with an M-22 trans though! A rare combo there. It got run over by a school bus in 1971 or so. Totalled but bought by a body shop and brought back to life. New owner changed colors and engine.
LOVE what you're doing to yours!
Thanks for checking out my MP tribute. I’ve pulled a lot of old magazines, books, and articles that I could find on everything Joel did with these cars. Funny thing is I grew up in the Bronx and never remember actually seeing any of his cars. I’m sure they were all over Long Island at the time though. Hard to find color photos of original cars from back in the day and the fact that he was basically installing aftermarket parts through his own catalog there are so many different packages that could be ordered. Also the paint scheme changes into the 70s with a side stripe.
I look forward to hearing from people that actually saw these cars or who have knowledge about them. I’m trying to represent it well but still throw in some hidden modern comforts that won’t be noticed by the casual observer.
