I bought a engine that is supposed to be out of a 68 Vette, but I'm not sure if it is or what?
It has camel hump heads, Holley 4 barrel and edelbrock intake.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Rear block # 3914678
Front block # 18L 300766 V082IME
I can't find anything that confirms it's out of a Corvette or if its even a factory l79 motor.

The block is the correct casting # however the suffix code is not Corvette and not L79. Should be either "HT" or "HP" ( For an AC L79). Also the VIN does not jive with 68 Corvettes. Lastly, the date, if the block was cast in 1968, it is likely too late for a 68 Corvette. Just my thoughts. You still have a nice 68 327 block.

Interesting.. This motor is in a jeep with a Corvette 327 400hp sticker on the hood. lol
I thought about trying to get it back in the hands of a Corvette guy, but it sounds like it's not that big of a deal. I'll just pull the stickers off and enjoy it like it is.
Looks like you guys were spot on. I found the original 1992 sales ad and buyers notes on the engine.
67-68 327 210hp. 2 bl. Camaro
I guess back then camel hump heads were used for performance rebuilds. No clue if it has any Corvette DNA at all. Kinda strange everyone kept saying it's a rare Vette motor.
Man I wish truck traders still looked like this along with the prices!
