Good afternoon gentlemen. I am actually a Viper owner. OH NO !! and I'm on a Vette forum, haha. But with good reason I assure you all.
I am in the market for a specific Vette and would appreciate some guidance on where to find. I need a 1979, Red, Beige interior, preferably a 4 speed, in turn key condition. This is for my Brother as a gift from his wife and I only have a month to find it and have it sitting in my garage before his birthday. He's had some health challenges and we want to get him this car because that's what he bought new in '79. I don't know beans about Corvettes except that I remember driving my friend's '69 454 at God knows how fast coming home from a club blind drunk, which was a very bad idea, and that my favorite of all time is the '63 split window for which I would trade my Viper in a second, and that generally they are classic, iconic, very cool muscle cars.
So any help would be very greatly appreciated. I'm in Westchester County, NY. please feel free to email me andrew5c@optonline.net, or text (914) 755 5145
This is a 79, L82, Red, 4spd but has a red interior. It is about 3 1/2 hrs from you if you wanted to take a run up to see what is out there and how it looks. I know nothing about the car just did a craigslist search. And if you are willing to make a change to your wish list. I think there might be more automatics for sale also...
I love that you are doing this, but to make sure you dont get ripped off, it is SUPER DUPER TROOPER IMPORTANT that you check the bird cage before you buy ANY corvette! I would hate for you to buy your brother this car only to find out its a big paper weight. Best of luck on the hunt!
