Default chrome bumper trim

The PO of my 68 convert installed a front end kit that eliminates the pop up headlights. He did not install the side and lower chrome bumper trim pieces. I cannot tell if there is room for the pieces to be added or not. Before I spend $$$$$$ on the new ones, does anyone have a beat up left or right trim set- or part of a set- they would sell? I don't care about the condition. I just want to see if it will fit.

It would be a great improvement to install the extra trim. Cn you hold a tape measure aginst the areas in question and take some pics so the tape is easy to read from side-to-side and also vertically. I will post some pics of grills close-ups in a few minutes (my grills are smashed)…..

If you find a beat up set, when you're done with them, I'll take them off your hands. I'm seriously considering converting my '73 to chrome.

All measurements include side overlap and bottom overlap of chrome doglegs over fiberglass

Hood trim was labeled bumper trim. This bumper trim is labeled radiator trim. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-69-COR...8/123170396524

Looks like OP's one side of valance might be up a bit high. Right side by bumperette. But b-ette may just be a bit low or if ok could still be raised to match lead edge of valance.

doorgunner- your measurements match what is on the kit on my car. Only difference is the stock nose piece is flat where the chrome piece mounts and my nose piece is rounded. I may need to do some minor modification to make it fit. Good thing is it is down low where it is not easily visible, so any imperfections will not be noticed.

That nose/grill opening resembles a modified rubber bumper car. Go with your plan of getting a cheap chrome dogleg to see what area you need to rework so you'll have a flat area to bolt the chrome to.

Like Derek said.....fix the problem with the mis-aligned opening next to the bumperette first.

After that you could always cheat by positioning the chrome trim where it fits best and bolt L-brackets to the holes in the chrome trim..........……..
then bolt the brackets to the inner edges of the opening

"bubba basics 101" I already have some of that on the car. The PO put the nose kit on the car, but had no turn signals and no parking lights.........and really no place to put them, since the square headlights occupy the space where the other lights used to go. Fortunately LED lights do not take up much space, so I have them in place for the missing turn signals and parking lights.
