Default repairs never end

I had a good time at the cruise-in at Manassas last night. Lost of interesting cars and interesting people. My 68 convert ran perfectly to and from the event. Today I took the car on a short trip to the supermarket and noticed the temperature was running a little warmer than normal. When I got home I found the electric radiator fan was not running. Wiring was OK, but traced it to a bad relay that turns on the fan at 180 degrees. So, on to the next repair.

I started carrying a length of jumper wire so I could jump mine to ground. It was on at 195 off at 185 and it started melting and failing at the connection on the intake. I replaced it with an on 180 and of 170. it runs perfect now. good luck!!!

I have the sensor wire grounded temporarily until I get another sensor. Fan will run all the time, but it will at least work.

I was patting myself on the back for fixing two minor nagging problems this week- the headlight switch function to turn on the interior lights and installing the chrome trim pieces around the front lower grill. The Corvette gods must have decided to humble me.

It;s still a lot better than the cost to repair new/late model cars.

I’m finding a correlation between the number of repairs needed for my 50 yr old car, and the aches, pains, creaks, and pops coming from my 51 yr old body.

Since I'm 25 years older than you, it's a wonder my car runs at all.
