75 with t-tops, new to me, noticed tops didn’t set level and when removed the upper windshield moulding pops up, t-tops compress it down, passenger corner moulding has some sticky black tar under it. I know it is not right as is and that it will likely leak, I don’t plan on having it in the rain but don’t want it to leak if it happens or washing the car along with it not looking right. I have searched but haven’t found anyone with this complaint. Is this something I should start removing pieces and hope I can get it to fit correctly as original or replace the black tar stuff? Thoughts? Gap between windshield, tar and moulding Passenger side not level
i dont think the frame is the problem. search for- windshield damming strip.
whovever installed the aftermarket glass had no idea what they were doing. here is some more info. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ll-how-to.html
It looks like Bubba filled everything up with sealer but forgot to install the screws in the chrome windshield header corner moldings that hold the moldings to the inner windshield frame. Those corner moldings go on BEFORE the windshield is installed as there are 2 front screws that are behind the top upper edge of the glass. There are 2 screws in the front edge (behind the glass), 2 on the rear side behind the upper trim inside the car and one screw on the end. My bet is someone who had no clue installed a new windshield and forgot to install the upper chrome corner trim pieces first so decided to just seal them down without the screws then filled the entire channel with sealer or foam. Check to see behind the interior top trim strip for 2 screw holes and the one in the end but the real problem is the front 2 screw holes as they are right behind the top edge of the glass. You also have sealer visible all along the edge of the upper W/S stainless trim piece where it meets the glass. There should be no sealer there at all and it looks like the glass was installed too low in the frame. No damming strip?

Yes I have seen your pictures and am envious, that’s what I want! Any chance you think the old glass could be reused, as long as it doesn’t break taking it out or is there a reason/benefit to using new glass?
You should be able to use the old glass. Just measure the thickness after removal as it could be thinner than original if it's a replacement. It might require a slightly thicker damming strip if it is thinner. The original damming strip was 5/16". I used a 3/8" strip as my aftermarket glass was .070" thinner than the original 69 glass which was about .275". I have done a few myself and did my 69 last year but when you take it to a glass guy, make sure it's someone with experience that has done these before.
