New engine, bushings etc.
Ok stuff gets old but Id have a hard time believing it needed all that much work.
Could it be mileage since restored, or one hell of an OCD original owner?
Very nice car (mileage wouldnt matter to me) just seems hard to believe why someone would go to all that trouble..and why it would need that much if the orig paint stayed that nice...indoors?

That 0 on the odometer look funny to anyone?
Ya and too many non oem worm clamps on coolant overflow and beat up backs of seats, and the wiped dirt left on air cleaner vacuum doors , no ocd here
There is no way on earth that is a 3500 mile car. Look at the picture of the underside of the hood with all the rust and dirt. Absolutely nothing is original except maybe the paint. Nobody with a real 3500 mile car would change all that stuff and ruin the value of the car.
Do like the color combo and 4 spd...if it drove like new its still worth good coin hate the bs that this hobby brings with it.
Why couldnt the guy just be honest, its still had a ton done to it?
3500 miles my ***. Some people shouldn't be allowed to sell anything. As PT Barnum said, There's a sucker born every minute. This idiot give ligit Corvette sellers a bad name.
No where in the ad does the seller claim that it has 3500 miles on it, he only says "low miles". It appears the seller is trying to give buyers the impression that it has 3500 miles on it, without being blatantly misleading, and saying it.
From what I see, the most interesting thing about this Corvette, is just how basic it is. Other than the aluminum wheels and two-tone paint, I don't see any other options on it. Power windows and AC were standard, as was an AM/FM mono radio and manual remote sport mirrors. Of the 40,000 81's built, 36K had power locks, 29K had a power driver seat, 33K had the power antenna, 13K had power mirrors, 29K had glass tops, 37K had the rear defogger, and all but about 1200 cars had one of the 5 optional radios. This car has none of those options, or any others that I can see. I'm not saying this makes the car more desirable, but it does made it different than most 81's.

Very good! You seem like a very observant and sharp cookie.

You are right , the seller only states LOW MILES , BUT , if you look at the 8th picture in his ad you will plainly see the odometer picture. Now if that isn't trying to sell a low low low milage car I don't know what else to say. Is he being misleading showing that picture? He doesn't say the odometer is or was broken for many miles or years . So ,as they say , YOU DO THE MATH. Just a thought? was this a flood car and that's why he changed all the interior and other things that might have been affected by water? Maybe it is a low milage car that was in storage for years , Never know.
I was wondering how accurate the 3500 miles was, and after seeing some of the suspect details everyone has been posting it appears to be a slimy seller. I was enamored by the paint and I didn't look more closely at the rest of the car.
