Have an 80 and the hood is aligned pretty good
but the front of hood is about a half inch below the
nose section. Don’t see that the car has been hit or
damaged. But I don’t know it’s history
I can send/post photos.
Any help in what can be done to raise that section?
You can't lower or raise the center of the hood in relation to hood hinge points. You can SOMETIMES. lower the center of the hood surround where the hood is below it.
Since the left headlight door looks like it's sitting low in the surround panel too, I'd guess that the car's had some kind of previous repairs, done to the nose. It's not uncommon for 80-82 hoods to fit poorly, but usually they fit good in the front and back, and are low on the sides.
It could be my imagination, but it seems the inside edge fiberglass at the “point” where the hood fits in on the car’s body looks uneven and repaired to me.(see circled area below).
I think the car has been tapped pretty good in the front and it’s going to need some repair to get that hood to look right.

There might be a rod to adjust the front of the surround. it goes from the rad support to under the surround. I have a 72 and adjusted the rod out to raise my surround and got it flush with the hood. I am not sure if an 80 has one but worth the look.
