Default Tires

Hello Vet world. My name is David and I’m new to the forum. I have dreamed of owning a Stingray since I was a child. Now 40 yrs old, I just bought a 76’ C3 T

-Top Stingray project car for 2K. Not much work needed to be honest. It is mechanically sound and just needs cosmetics. First thing first is good tread. What is he best tire to put on this classic? I was initially looking at Cooper Cobras, but want to see what you all think.

Looks like a good buy. I put Cooper Cobras on my 77 and have been happy with them.

Cooper Cobras are fine & a good choice. I decided to try the Mickey Thompson (instead of BF Goodrich) & I am happy with the ride.. Jegs had a $50 off coupon if you bought 4.

Congrats on the purchase. You can have a TON of fun for not a lot of money with these cars. Another vote for the Coopers. Great tire for the money and they look great on the C3s.

I have the Coopers, 255-60-15, black side out. They work fine. Maybe a bit softer side wall than Goodyear's I had before.
One thing to remember, it's a rare c3 that can handle as well as a newer vette. Once you understand that, you won't be so disappointed.

PS I THINK the MT's are made by cooper. I'm not sure if they're the same tire with a different look or ????
There is also a Pep Boys tire also made by Cooper. While I was going to run the black side out, I went with the best deal which was the Coopers.
If it's not Goodyear, Firestone, or BFG, I don't like the white lettering.

Thank you all for your feed back. I’m a big fan of BFGs, but I like the way Cooper Cobras look. Seems like there is really no wrong choice on the C3. Especially with white letters out. Thx again.

I just put BFG T/As 225/70-15 on my 73 last weekend. I like the look of the skinnyish stock size for some reason. Guess I’m getting old.

I know it sounds "elitist", but I agree....

When I had a 76 I went old school with the red line look by BFG.
