Default Bypassing transducer

I am wanting to remove the transducer and go to a single cable on my 82.has anybody done this? Just wondering if this will work good or should I buy a reman transducer and leave the 2 cables..it would be a lot cheaper to just by the single cable than buy a new transducer and I wouldn’t use the cruise control..in fact I removed all the cruise control from the engine..I am looking to have a nice smooth speedometer is what I am looking for.i believe my current transducer is bad...

I believe it should work with a single cable, just as if it didn't have cruise to begin with

You can do as you are suggesting; but you should know that the longer the speedo cable, the more risk of disturbance with the speedo reading (jumping, wiggling, etc).

Some of the early C3 cars were built with TWO shorter cables, rather than with one long one. And cruise control wasn't even an option then!!
