Default Winter Project

Let the winter projects begin.

My wiper have never worked and I want to get them working they will turn on and maybe give me a stroke or two and then stop with the wiper door up I ended up bending the washer fluid tube on the passenger arm hoping to be able to bend it back.

What does the " wiper arm vacuum switch" do it is on the passenger side in with the wiper arms.

Installing the drop air cleaner base I had to re-mount the throttle cable and cut the 90 off for the valve cover vent due to interference with the carb.
Need to lengthen one or two of the spark plug wires I made a bad connection and now it is to tight.
Relocate and mount the Ignition coil
Remount my rear speakers they keep pulling out
Work on my side covers for the exhaust
Remove the rear wheel bearings and get those redone
Change the brake fluid
check the heater motor it runs but only in slow
Oh the wiper grill was held on with nuts and bolts I bought new bolts hoping they are bigger and I have threads left not sure what to do if they do not

I could keep going because there is always more

The tech pages at Willcox corvette have tons of info on fixing the wiper system. http://repairs.willcoxcorvette.com/category/wiper/

You probably don't want to hear it, but the wiper relay is buried under the shift console. See the aforementioned page, towards the bottom. There's a pic.

p.s. when you get done with yours, come over and fix mine!

I think my vacuum relay works (I am waiting on my vacuum container to come in from Summit) abut I am going to test it out.

Well If I have to remove the center counsel I might end up doing the carpet and better insulation

Talking about Winter project creep.

Thanks for the information.

Wilcox Help

I found this on Wilcox website, My 69 does not have the headlight washer installed it has been removed. What does this harness do and where would I hook it up?

Here's a pic of my WW motor. The pump connector is on the left, brown with the yellow and medium-blue wires. The wires come straight out of the wire loom, so no idea where the jumper wires from Willcox would connect.

Default Fixed

Wiper is fixed, it was the wiper relay and since my center counsel is out I am going to pull the carpet and put down heat barrier material. Working on my adapter so the big block drop air cleaner bottom can be piped to the 350 valve cover should look good (it will be a proud bubba moment).

Car is up on the quick jack so I can change the brake fluid and pull the rear wheel bearings.

Have to love winter work

Default Air Cleaner

So I have the air cleaner to valve cover all plumbed out need a couple of hose clamps to finish though. Drained the brake fluid and started putting in new I want to buy some more because what is coming out right now has a definite tint to it. Tonight a little more brake work and maybe pull the seats.

Default Opinion

Looking for help and some opinions, I have attached a couple of pictures of what is below the carpet the car does have some kind of heat mat but not sure what it is or how effective. I think it would be beneficial to pull the carpet and put down some decent heat mat.

What is the easiest way to pull the carpet? it seams to be glued down in places.

Maybe you can pull upward on the carpet and use a paint or gasker scraper to free it from the glued areas. Definately upgrade the insulation u der the carpet......you wont regret spendi g the extra cash. See my table of contents in my thread......I used an assortment of heat/sound deadener u der my new carpet and lowered the floorboard tempedrature about 25 degrees!

Most of the carpet has been pulled just have the storage area left, carpet looks good I am going to clean it while it is out. Working on pulling the rear spindle but the crown nut is giving me a hard time it just will not come off going to spray it down and work on the passenger side and think about taking it off again in a week or so.

Looking for someone to rebuild the originals and doing it myself with buying the tools I decided to take the leap to offset trailing arms from Van Steel I am waiting for them to show up. I have pulled the Drivers Trailing arm tomorrow the passenger side. I did not have a cotter pin holding in the shims a little confused about that. I am going to do a little rust prevention and repaint on the frame prior to re-asembly. I also replaced the front and gas tank badge anyone want the old one's they need a repaint free to a good home.
