Default 79 rear window trim

I am trying to locate a part number or a place that has the outer rear window trim for a 79. When mine was getting repainted i guess the guy had no idea what he was doing. However, he had to take that trim off and I think he had to brake it to get it off and stated that the only way to get it back on was to take the rear window out??? I am not sure if this is true or not, I hope there is someone here that can provide some insight for me.
Thanx!

Yes, as I found out, when I had mine painted, what I found out is you can remove the rear glass trim for paint, but the only way to get the clips reinstalled (which most of them broke) was to remove the back glass. I took mine to a very reputable glass shop glass shop who thought he could put the clips in without removing the window, but after an hour or so of trying, called me to say he had to remove the rear glass.

I am happy to hear that he was telling the truth LOL . where did you get the replacement trim from? And was it very expensive to get the trim installed?

I was fortunate that my trim itself came off undamaged, so I didn't have to get replacements. The clips I bought from Zip.

From looking at one of my pictures, it appears to be black.

Part numbers for the rear window reveal trim (black painted stainless steel):

476255 (upper)
476256 (lower)
476254 (side--2 req.)

Paragon Corvette Reproductions lists the side (actually small corner) pieces with "call for price".

The other two do not seem to be in production.

I saw an upper piece (NOS) on eBay for about $225

Doc Rebuiilt (might) have a lower piece (NOS) but his listings are rarely updated.
