Mine is an early build 72 and there are no bezels in place.
I wonder if they were deleted by GM as they can cause an aggravating buzzing noise when the latch sides are up against the edge of the bezel plate. I have had this happen with my 69 on both sides at a certain rpm's. I fixed it by using a small quarter inch square of black rubber one-side tape on the bezel where it meets the latch sides. The bezels don't really do much and are not noticeable. Well, except when they buzz or rattle or if you are on your back looking up at the trim.
