Default 68 SB lower rad hose

So I had my lower radiator hose blow up on me yesterday , luckily the car was at home and I had just parked it.

is the gates 20813 the correct replacement?

Not a big fan of those "ribbed" re-enforced type hoses. I believe they hinder flow in my opinion. Maybe find something else with a smooth surface inside & out.
Must have an internal support spring too. Keep looking.

Do all hoses come with the internal spring? Any particular model or will any generic one fit.

no they all dont come with the spring now a days. Either pull the spring from the bad hose or find a generic stainless steel spring. There was a thread from a year or two ago talking about springs.

The last hose I looked up actually came with a spring which was nice to see. I havent bought anything yet though

Judging by the look of your old hose, somebody threw away the spring because they would not use both ribbed hose & spring.
Shop around on some Vette vendors for the PROPER HOSE. Then you will know it is the correct diameter, the correct length and has the correct pre-bent form to it. This is not a place to use generic stuff. Do it right.
Try Zip Corvettes, Keen, Wilcox, etc.

It's just a hose spring. When you pull it out it goes straight. It just needs to be close to the inside diameter to keep the hose from collapsing and stainless steel to keep it from rusting

I found a hose at the local parts shop that looks pretty much identical to the one I removed. It did not have the metal spring inside but instead it has the spring built into it. It fit pretty good, I did have to trim just a tad from the end but it seems to fit just like the old one did.

The ac delco one has it built in. You can see it protruding out of the hose in a spiral pattern.
