If you have an 82 LEAVE IT ALONE....It is an EXEMPLARY system that was installed on MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of GM vehicles. With 40-50 year reliability.
I have one and it's running PERFECTLY 38 years later.
If you have a carb...the Holley system is good.
The 82 Cross-fire system has a Z-28 type manifold with CROSS-RAM tubes....the left throttle body has ONE big fuel injector serving the right side of the engine and vice-versa. It adjusts A/F ratio 80 times a second.
