I want to replace the old beat up shift plate and forward console with a new one but I’m not sure if mine is with air or without. I can’t find a 68 for my car so I’m going with a 69.
That plate you're showing is a later (72+) air-condition (no floor vent levers) but the control is a non-ac of course
I don't see any real reason it couldn't be cleaned and re-painted, doesn't seem damaged too bad at all from the pics
Does your car have the vent doors down on the kick panel? Or are they closed off? If they are there and operational, maybe look at finding the lever controls and getting them working again, even if you use a different year plate

my car is a 68 and the shift plate mounts are broken, only one screw really holds the plate down to the console. Are the vents you speak of behind the kick panels? I opened one up the other day and saw the recess for the speaker but I don’t think there were any vents. What do they look like?
