I've had mine for about 2 years. I've got a 8 foot ceiling garage, so a post lift was not an option. I LOVE my quickjacks. I don't think I could have rehabbed my differential and rear suspension without it. It seems secure and steady to me, even at the highest setting. I generally use it at the highest setting with one of the taller rubber blocks.
If I'm really going to be torquing on something I will place jack stands in key spots as a backup, but I've never felt they were really needed.
I tried to get Quick Jack to honor a $100.00 email discount on a Quick Jack (Car and Driver ad for $1060.00.) Was told no. Quick Jack seems to only honor the email discount for full retail.....
Ad does not say anything about not honoring discounts....
I'll wait for Costco to place them back on sale for $900.00 again.
I can't really use the truck adapter kit on my 'vette, it is too tall to get under.
You can but it's a little bit of extra work. I first raise my '73 with the rubber blocks and then I put some homemade wheel cribs under each tire (mine are about 4" tall). I can then switch the rubber blocks with the truck adapters and re-raise the car.
